Rock the Smock

I am a fan of all kinds of dresses, but recently there has been one style which has caught my eye the most- the smock midi dress. Remember last year when everyone was wearing that black and white polka dot dress from Zara? Clearly I’m not the only one that loves this style, so if you were also a fan then keep on reading.

I love a dress that does all of the work for you; no need for lots of accessories or effort and on top of that, you can go out for a meal without worrying about your jeans feeling a little too tight after (we’ve all been there). It’s comfy, stylish and my current go to style.

My dress is from last year’s Mango- it was perfect for those surprisingly hot summer days (and this autumn heat wave we are having at the moment) but I am also looking forward to wearing it with some knee boots and a cosy jacket.

Not only do I love the looseness of this dress for comfort purposes, I also love the opportunities it gives for layering; in the autumn it’s so easy to pop a coat and scarf on top AND you can also wear your thermals underneath to be extra cosy- no one will notice.

So in ode to one of my favourite dress styles, I thought I would pick out some of my favourites on ASOS at the moment for you browse through at your pleasure. Enjoy!

Hello! My name is Stephanie Elizabeth, I am a student/ writer/ fashion lover from Scotland . From a young age, fashion has been an immensely important aspect of my life, and in the past few years this love has grown from my discovery of Hollywood legends such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Diane Keaton and many more. Through this admiration, I was able to appreciate the many eras of fashion and the unique interpretations of style which keep it interesting and ever changing; it is the individual takes which I love the most, as it is completely expressive and different for every one of us. So, I am excited for this next chapter of my life to see how my own style( and life) evolves during university, lots of travelling( I hope) and beyond.
