Daisies Daisies Daisies

Every year I buy one thing which carries me through the summer and this year is no different. I spotted this Topshop dress on their website whilst on the lookout for a comfy midi dress that would suit almost any occasion, and when I saw this, my search was complete.

The style is quite reminiscent of the 50s with the bibbed, buttoned down top and it is also the best print ever- DAISIES!! Is there a prettier flower?! I have worn it multiple times already to family gatherings, wandering around Loch Lomond or day trips to the capital city and every time I feel so confident and comfortable in it.

One thing I really love about it is the versatility- simply by adding a belt, the style of the dress completely changes, creating that gorgeous 50s silhouette, or without a belt and with a pair of chunky trainers it becomes a great casual day dress for any excursion.

I am wearing a Topshop petite size 4 because as much as I love the smock style, I’m only 5ft 4inches so if something is too big, I look even smaller and sometimes like I’m dressing in maternity clothes. If you are similarly small and looking for the perfect midi smock dress, I’d probably say get the smallest size you can so the dress doesn’t drown you.

It is now in the Topshop sale down to £15(trying not to be annoyed that I paid more than this)- what a bargain! Maybe you think it looks a bit like a grandma dress but that has never put me off something before. My grandma lived through the 50s and 60s so she had great style.

Anyway, I don’t want to bore you with my rambling on but I absolutely love it.

Sincerely,

Stephanie

Hello! My name is Stephanie Elizabeth, I am a student/ writer/ fashion lover from Scotland . From a young age, fashion has been an immensely important aspect of my life, and in the past few years this love has grown from my discovery of Hollywood legends such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Diane Keaton and many more. Through this admiration, I was able to appreciate the many eras of fashion and the unique interpretations of style which keep it interesting and ever changing; it is the individual takes which I love the most, as it is completely expressive and different for every one of us. So, I am excited for this next chapter of my life to see how my own style( and life) evolves during university, lots of travelling( I hope) and beyond.
