Lounging in Style

Since we’re all stuck at home, it may be tempting to stay in our pyjamas all day. While I have definitely been guilty of considering this, I always feel more motivated to start my day once I’ve put some ‘proper clothes’ on. Don’t worry, I don’t mean that I wear jeans everyday because I know some people have some strong feelings against this – only on weekends for me. Each to their own.

I’m going to let my true lazy self out here because I have to admit I have been really excited about some new lounge wear outfits recently. There really is nothing better than being comfy while stuck at home. With that in mind, I have been trying to form some semi stylish looks so I still feel like myself and don’t let my laziness take over completely. I know that fashion isn’t really important right now but I still believe your day can be a little bit better if you feel pretty and confident with what you are wearing.

People on instagram have been giving me massive loungewear envy with their cute co-ords and crop tops. It’s been a challenge not to spend a small fortune filling my wardrobe with ASOS sets, but I know I shouldn’t because I already have an embarrassing amount of lazy outfits.

A cute and comfy outfit is the perfect pick-me-up and might even make isolation a little bit easier for you. What’s not to like; you’ll look great, cheer yourself up and feel more motivated for the day ahead.

I have been having a lot of fun compiling new outfits out of the comfy pieces in my wardrobe so I thought I would share some of them with you – all the way from my bedroom mirror!

This first look is actually one of my go to airport outfits because it’s comfortable AND presentable to the outside world. I love a pair of flared trousers no matter what the occasion but they are especially perfect for lockdown; they are super comfy and make the simplest t shirt and trousers combo that little bit more fashionable.

Stripes never get old, am I right?! I got these leggings about 8 years ago and I love them just as much today as I did when I got them (maybe even more). Leggings are another go to for me right now, especially when they include a bold print to make the look a bit funkier. I also still love to include some jewellery to make my plain t-shirts a bit less plain and make me feel a little more done up.

These are probably a questionable choice for some people but they are pink, velvet, comfortable and giving me 90s vibes so I love them. For me a cropped top or tighter bodysuit is better for trousers that are a little bit baggier like these because it stops you from drowning in your clothes. This is a much more casual look than the others but I still wouldn’t be ashamed to be seen by the neighbours wearing it.

If you know me then you’ll know how much I love ‘Friends’ and that I will take any opportunity to copy Rachel Green’s wardrobe because she is the queen of fashion. Even in this sporty look she looks fabulous (potentially because Jennifer Aniston is gorgeous?) so I decided to copy it with these black joggers and dark green sweatshirt. My sweatshirt is from Daisy Street- they have so many nice pieces on ASOS, perfect for lockdown. All I need is the backwards baseball cap and some pigtails and the look will be complete.

This is my ultimate lazy day look: plain leggings and t-shirt with a flannel shirt. I got major inspiration from my favourite fashion influencer Megan Ellaby for this outfit and I am really loving it. The tied shirt around my waist is my favourite part, adding a bit of excitement but also practicality- if it gets colder later on in the day, I don’t need to run upstairs to put a jumper on. Yes I am that lazy.

Hope this inspires your future loungewear, I have a feeling we’ll be living in it for a while longer. But more importantly, hope you guys are all well right now ♥️

Hello! My name is Stephanie Elizabeth, I am a student/ writer/ fashion lover from Scotland . From a young age, fashion has been an immensely important aspect of my life, and in the past few years this love has grown from my discovery of Hollywood legends such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Diane Keaton and many more. Through this admiration, I was able to appreciate the many eras of fashion and the unique interpretations of style which keep it interesting and ever changing; it is the individual takes which I love the most, as it is completely expressive and different for every one of us. So, I am excited for this next chapter of my life to see how my own style( and life) evolves during university, lots of travelling( I hope) and beyond.
