It’s October which means it is Halloween month! I am very excited to pop on some Halloween movies (Hocus Pocus will always be no1!) and of course plan my costume. Sometimes I wish I was the kind of person who could take the easy way out and wear a red mini dress and devil ears, but unfortunately that’s never been very ‘me’- no shame in it though!
Some of my criteria when it comes to Halloween costumes are that I want to wear something stylish, something that will make me feel confident but still dressing up as someone scary of course.
I got really into character as you can tell.
With all of this in mind, when Halloween was looming last year, one character fit the bill perfectly. Someone who is stylish, confident and of course pretty terrifying since she is a psychopathic assassin: Villanelle! If you haven’t watched ‘Killing Eve’ then you may have no clue who this is, but if you have seen it then you will know that Jodie Comer’s performance is JAW DROPPING (beyond happy she won that Emmy) and I could go on about how talented she is all day.
Anyway, back to the costume- I have had a few people message me on Instagram asking me where I found the dress so I thought I would share it all here! I spent a good couple of weeks searching for a replica of the Molly Goddard pink dress Villanelle wears (the designer one was a lot ££££s I couldn’t afford to spend). I had no luck until I found the Asos Maternity dress, however when it arrived it was quite a dark pink; different to the original number, so I swapped the slip dress underneath for a lighter pink midi dress I found in the Warehouse sale. I also added a tulle skirt underneath to make it even more voluminous and extravagant, and wore the dress backwards so it had a higher neck like Villanelle’s dress.
I finished the look off with some black ankle boots and putting my hair in a bun to channel my inner chic assassin( I have no inner chic assassin). Unfortunately last year barely anyone knew who I was dressed up as since ‘Killing Eve’ was just starting to gain momentum, but if you decide to do it this year I’m sure everyone will get it!
Here is the link to the dress I bought:

Happy Halloween!
