I hate to say it but I have finally accepted (reluctantly) that summer is over. While I am very sad about this as it means a return to university, darker evenings and rainier days, I am excited to finally order pumpkin spiced lattes again (yes, I am that basic).
Over the years I have struggled to dress for this transitional season, however I have been surprisingly enjoying it this year. A few weeks ago I watched the 90’s classic ‘One Fine Day’ for the hundredth time- if you haven’t watched it already, please do yourself a favour and change that – and of course Michelle Pfeiffer has inspired my September wardrobe. I am always obsessed with 90s style, but there is something about her oversized trench coat while running about rainy NYC which is just special. Perhaps it is because this actress could make just about anything look beautiful, in which case I have little hope of replicating her charm. However, it will not stop me from trying.
I actually found this trench coat in the Primark sale last year for the ultimate bargain price of £10 and every time I wear it I fall in love with it all over again. Trench coats never go out of style and I love them far too much; they are that classic item every person should have in their wardrobe and the perfect thing to wear on the drearier Autumn days. They serve the ultimate 90s nostalgia for me, which I am probably not allowed to say since I wasn’t alive until ’99.
Sincerely,
Stephanie xo
