If you haven’t guessed by now I am slightly obsessed with travelling (as much as my bank account allows me to). Last week, this obsession led me to Paris and I had the best time. It’s almost impossible to describe how magical I find this city; there is nothing more surreal than walking along the Seine with a view of the Eiffel Tower.
This was my third time in the city and without a doubt the best trip yet as I was wandering the Parisian streets with my three best friends.
We stayed in the Hotel Elysees Union and I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough- it was very reasonably priced, close to lots of the best sights and had the most breath-taking view of the Eiffel Tower.
One of the highlights of our trip was the night time cruise along the Seine which included a glass of champagne. Sipping champagne while sailing along the Seine at night was the perfect way to see the city of lights in all of its glory, especially to capture the most beautiful 5 minutes when the Eiffel Tower sparkles.
Most of our activities were pretty typical for any tourists visiting Paris: we spent an afternoon at the Eiffel Tower, got lost in the Louvre while trying to find the Mona Lisa finding many, many other paintings along the way, walked to Montmartre to admire the Sacre Coeur, stopping at the Moulin Rouge en route, watched the insane traffic at the Arc de Triomphe and of course went shopping along the Champs Elysees.
On our second night, we went for dinner and then on to a rooftop bar, called Le Perchoir Marais, with a stunning view of the city and another way to watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle- it never gets boring.
Obviously, we couldn’t go to Paris without a trip to Disneyland! We got up early to spend the entire day at the parks, and stayed until the park closed so we could catch the magical fireworks. It was the most perfect day.
I am severely missing the magical Parisian side streets, pastries for breakfast and waking up to a view of the Eiffel Tower. I don’t think I could ever get bored of this magical city, Paris is one of my favourite places to visit. 4 days was definitely not long enough for me, I honestly could have stayed for another fortnight, if only I had the funds to allow me. Maybe one day…
There are so many places to take in the spectacular views of the city, including the Montparnasse Tower Observation Deck and the rooftop the Printemps department store. There are also lots of rooftop bars where you can go to catch the Parisian sunset, and watch the Eiffel Tower, lit up in all its glory- it never gets boring.
