Hummingbird Night Out

If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll know that I celebrated my twentieth birthday in March, and I actually planned to write this blog post around that time, however my annual ‘freak-out about exams for a month’ period happened and I decided to postpone until I had less studying on my mind. So, now that my exams are finally finished for another semester, I thought I would talk a bit more about what I organised for my Birthday for anyone looking for party planning/ event ideas.

(I will leave the link for my dress at the end)

I am a big fan of birthday celebrations, basically because I love any excuse to see as many of my friends as possible. This year in particular felt like was a bit of a milestone since I have entered a new decade; I wanted to celebrate in style.

Hummingbird is somewhere I had always wanted to go and had been hearing fabulous reviews about, so when I found out about their free room hire I realised that this would be the perfect venue for my birthday. It’s only free on weekdays   and you have to put down a non-refundable £50 deposit which is redeemable through drinks etc- cocktails are also half price during the week which is an added bonus! There is a karaoke machine in the room and a private bar for the function rooms, not to mention the prettiest wall full of flowers at the entrance- perfect for a good insta shot!

My friends and I had such a great night in the Glitter Room, which holds up to 14 people, however if you have a bigger party there are multiple gorgeous rooms available. We had the best time singing along to Abba, Queen and High School Musical (amongst many other tunes) whilst sipping on cocktails and prosecco which were waiting on us upon arrival. I would 100% recommend it to any fellow cocktail and karaoke fans out there.

This is beginning to sound like a Trip Advisor Review but we really had a great time. I loved the aspect of having the room all to ourselves, having fun without worrying about onlookers judging my bad singing as well as getting to spend the entire night with my friends in a room where I could actually hear what they were saying- quite rare these days. Yes I know I sound like a grandmother but it’s the truth.

So, if you are planning any kind of night out/ event in the future and you have no idea what to do and where to look, I would definitely recommend you check Hummingbird out.

End of unintentional review.

On a slightly related note, if anyone likes my dress at all, I will leave the link below! It’s from Revolve which is an American brand so it takes a bit longer to be delivered but they have lots of very pretty things and you get 10% off your first purchase on the app.

Hello! My name is Stephanie Elizabeth, I am a student/ writer/ fashion lover from Scotland . From a young age, fashion has been an immensely important aspect of my life, and in the past few years this love has grown from my discovery of Hollywood legends such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Diane Keaton and many more. Through this admiration, I was able to appreciate the many eras of fashion and the unique interpretations of style which keep it interesting and ever changing; it is the individual takes which I love the most, as it is completely expressive and different for every one of us. So, I am excited for this next chapter of my life to see how my own style( and life) evolves during university, lots of travelling( I hope) and beyond.
