To tell the complete truth, I used to be a bit of a snob when it came to shopping in Primark, but as I have gotten older (I’m only 19) I have started shopping in it more and more- this may be because I now have to spend my own money and have become a complete cheapskate! Anyway, this newfound fondness for Primark has led me to buy quite a few things in their summer collection this year, so I thought I would share some of my purchases for the fellow style/ bargain hunter.
The first thing is this striped suit which I completely fell in love with when I saw it in Glamour magazine; I couldn’t believe it was from Primark! The two piece summer suit look is going around quite a few shops at the moment; all of the ones I had seen were a lot more expensive, but it cost me less than £40 for both pieces of this look! I’m not going to lie, it took a bit of time for me to pluck up the courage to wear it out, but I loved it when I finally did and it was surprisingly easy to wear. Since the two piece suit is already quite bold, it’s important not to go overboard with what top you wear underneath it; I just went for a plain black bralet to finish off the summery vibe.
This bodysuit is another piece which I love, I actually got it in both the orange (seen in the picture) and in black and white stripes. It is such an easy top to wear with a pair of jeans of culottes for a casual look maybe going for brunch or some shopping. Plus it was under £10! I love the bardot style of top for Summer, I always think it looks so classic and can be easily dressed up or down depending on jewellery and other accessories. I wore my orange one while I was in Kinross on a weekend away with some denim culottes and trainers and it was so comfy and casual yet I still felt like I was making an effort. The black and white stripe version of the same style is also so simple and yet I am such a big fan of black and white stripes because it always looks classic so I knew I had to buy it, just to wear with some black skinny jeans.
I am always a fan of cigarette trousers when they fit perfectly and are comfy on, so these black and white striped (the striped theme is becoming a bit sad) ones are perfect! I love the high waisted style since it always makes your legs look longer (necessary if you’re small like me) .The stripes also make it easier to pair with a simple t shirt or shirt and look effortless yet stylish; I’m wearing them here with my ‘Girlhood’ t-shirt from River Island. The important thing about this style of trousers, like most clothes, they look best when they fit perfectly- I got the size 4 so that they weren’t too wide. Cigarette trousers always look great in Summer, especially in Scotland with our unpredictable climate since they can be summery yet practical for the colder Summer days, and these ones were only £10!
