Without a doubt, red is one of my favourite colours because it doesn’t make my very very pale skin look completely washed out when I wear it, and with Christmas only a few days away, this is the perfect time to bring the colour out of your wardrobe. I love finding those festive Christmas outfits every year and this year is no different; I walked by a dress in Miss Selfridge’s window every day for over a week contemplating whether I should buy it or not. It was red and velvet and my size so I convinced myself it was meant to be – I could not resist the temptation any longer.
While I try not to stick to the same colour of dress all of the time, if I had to it would probably be red because there are so many different styles to suit every occasion, especially in December! When I was thirteen I fell in love with a red tartan Alexander McQueen dress Emma Watson wore to the the GQ Men of the Year Awards and I was determined to get one just like it! Eventually I found a red tartan dress online, added a black tutu underneath it and voila- I would wear it to this day!
As the colour itself is so bold, I think it can be important to avoid going overboard with the accessories, and you can never go wrong with a black cat eye for your makeup!
A red party dress is the perfect way to go for a festive Christmas day outfit and I believe that there is one to suit everyone, so if you are wondering what to wear on Monday, here is some hopefuly inspiration which may inspire you to seek out the red dress you have hiding in your wardrobe:

When you work hard, you should be rewarded therefore treating yourself to the red velvet dress was well deserved! Look forward to seeing you in it. Lots of love and Merry Christmas, Auntie P x
