Finding Those Last Minute Christmas Gifts

This week, my work have been so busy with lots of people coming in searching for last minute gifts they need to get before Monday, and I always feel so sorry for them because I have been there many times. Sometimes it is impossible to get any ideas for what to get people and with Christmas only a few days away, time is running out to find inspiration.

A few places I like to go when on the lookout for Christmas gifts are little gift boutiques which always have products you probably wouldn’t find elsewhere. If you live in East Kilbride, ‘Chimes’ in the village do lots of unique gifts, from candles, purses, ornaments, jewellery and so much more.  Last year I got both my sister and my friend glass bottles which had fairy lights inside and cute little phrases on them which they both have sitting on their dressing tables! I also love their collection of bracelets with catchphrases on the packaging which they offer to gift wrap for you which is always a bonus! Also in the village, the clothing boutique Libellula have really pretty clothes as well as very nice accessories to have a look at!

I also love ‘Pretty Little Thing’ in Hairmyres as they have a great selection of my favourite Katie Loxton clutch bags which I think would a great present for any girl, as well as some really nice purses and jewellery to have a look at! However, if you are in Glasgow, the little shop Maia which is off of the top of Buchanan street is one of my favourites, as they have amazing gifts like their mugs, candles, hip flasks, travel books, fashion books, scrap books, jewellery- the list is endless! They are definitely worth a shop!

As well as these boutiques, if you are looking for a book lover(like me), the book shop Caledonia Books on Great Western Road is great if you are looking for an out of print or rare book. Waterstones also offer a great collection of hardback classic books with pretty embroidery on their covers which would make a very good gift! I am also a fan of Urban Outfitters for their collection of different books such as ones on fashion, photography, lamas, and more.

This season, statement tassel earrings are also an ongoing trend which I am loving; both Topshop, and Miss Selfridge have quite a large variety of colours and styles to give you options and would be a great gift for a fashionista!

Hopefully this will give you some ideas and if you have time to go along to any of these suggestions, I hope you find the perfect gift!

Hello! My name is Stephanie Elizabeth, I am a student/ writer/ fashion lover from Scotland . From a young age, fashion has been an immensely important aspect of my life, and in the past few years this love has grown from my discovery of Hollywood legends such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Diane Keaton and many more. Through this admiration, I was able to appreciate the many eras of fashion and the unique interpretations of style which keep it interesting and ever changing; it is the individual takes which I love the most, as it is completely expressive and different for every one of us. So, I am excited for this next chapter of my life to see how my own style( and life) evolves during university, lots of travelling( I hope) and beyond.
