Dressing For A Dull Day- Outfit Post
Scotland is a country infamous for our unpredictable summer days which rarely live up to our hopeful expectations, and for me this is always disappointing because I never get a lot of wear out of my summer wardrobe. When I look out my window and see the grey skies outside, I automatically feel lazier and am less motivated to dress up, however after searching Pinterest many times to learn how to master street style on a dreich day, I feel like I am finally getting somewhere.
The important thing for me is that I have realised if I am feeling lazy then it is not all bad to reflect this onto my clothes and I believe a plain white t-shirt is the best way to do this. This is one of the simplest things you can wear, and yet I think wearing it with a pair of mom jeans or cigarette trousers automatically lifts the look up while still being completely easy and effortless- I’m wearing my Topshop navy pinstripe cigarette trousers.
When it comes to shoes, I’m all about flats if I am out and about, because as I have previously mentioned I have yet to conquer walking in heels and a pair of white trainers are an easy addition to any street style look. You can’t go wrong with this, especially on a day when you can’t be bothered making a massive effort with your outfit, and finishing it off with a flowing duster coat (the one I am wearing is from Primark) and some matching accessories allows you to remain stylish, casual and weather appropriate for the day ahead.
Sincerely,
Stephanie x
