My (Slightly Odd) City Wardrobe Obsession
Before I went to New York City two years ago, I spent many weeks planning my outfits down to a tee to ensure that I made the most out of one of the major fashion capitals in the world. There were a few visions I had of myself walking along Fifth Avenue dressed like Carrie Bradshaw with six inch heels, a fancy outfit and a designer handbag but unfortunately that is not a realistic or comfortable option for a city sightseeing holiday and so I had to tone it down slightly; I also have to admit that barely anyone in New York actually dresses the way we see it on the screen. Thus, my parents convinced me to stick to a pair Converse as a more sensible alternative, especially considering I cannot walk down a street in heels never mind thirty blocks.
However, I still wanted to look the way I had dreamed of looking walking around the Big Apple, and so when I saw a large black hat in River Island a couple of weeks before my holiday, I immediately thought it was the perfect addition to my suitcase. I loved it, and believed that it was the perfect way for me to pay homage to one of my favourite characters Holly Golightly- I think most people could tell I was an Audrey Hepburn fan while I was there!
Although, this was not the only reason I would recommend this hat for anyone away on a city break; there are many benefits believe it or not. I don’t know if I am alone in this, but when I am on holiday I never have a lot of time to spend on my hair, especially in a city as I try to be out in the morning as soon as possible, therefore it is difficult to style it the best way, and where hair accessories and hats in particular come in very handy. Life becomes a little easier when all you have to do is blow dry your hair and pop a hat on, while they also have added benefits of protecting your face from the sun, which is especially helpful for fellow pale people out there. If you get the right colour of hat for your outfit, then it will always complete your outfit perfectly and you will stand out from the crowd, while they also go really well with sunglasses sitting right underneath the brim- so many advantages!

I have to say that ever since I bought my hat I worn it on many occasions- a good investment- and have also bought a couple of Autumn season ones in camel and grey for trips to any city. As you can tell, I am a fan, and I hope you will consider becoming one too!
Sincerely,
Stephanie x
